Sammy

Adopted JANUARY 2023!

Sammy’s Story:

Adorable west highland terrier, Sammy, joined Camp Cocker as one of our Freedom Flyers from South Korea in November 2022, along with a cocker spaniel named Tommy. Sadly, these bonded boys had been left homeless after their owner passed away at home. No one discovered her and the dogs for a few days - how tragic! Our rescue partners known as the Cocker Moms were able to pull them from the shelter they’d been sent to, and Sammy and Tommy were flown to Los Angeles, CA soon after. Both estimated to be around seven years of age, Sammy and Tommy were inseparable after their arrival. They were already so attached that we couldn’t bear to split them up, so we set out to find them a loving forever home together, especially since Sammy is so codependent on his brother.

Sammy is a super shy dog who is still learning to trust new people. He is not a big fan of strangers, loud noises or rain, and he tends to stick close to Tommy who helps him feel safe. Nevertheless, the two dogs have been enjoying settling into their new home, where they spend a lot of time around their humans and enjoy exploring the yard with their new dog sister, 6-year-old cocker mix Hana. Sammy is slowly warming up to his new family, who are happy to let him come to them on his own terms. He is especially attached to his dad, who he sticks to like velcro! Sammy will sometimes paw at his people for attention and wags his tail at people he recognizes. We are so thrilled to see these boys enjoying a nice home together!
