Adopted NOVEMBER 2023!

Scooter’s Story:

Scooter joined Camp Cocker via our Freedom Flight program in November 2023 after he was rescued by Хөөрхөн Зулзага ТББ in Mongolia. Scooter was described as young, friendly and wiggly, with happy energy. Estimated to be 1-3 years old, he is certainly an energetic young cocker spaniel who does great with people and other dogs. It’s no surprise that this cutie had adopters lined up for him before he ever arrived in America!

Now appropriately known as Happy, he has brought so much joy into his new home. His adopters tell us that he is unbelievably well-behaved and about 95% potty-trained. Happy is the best snuggler and has no problem wiggling into a comfy spot on their laps. They have been walking 4-5 miles every day and he still wants to play! His new big brother, Gunner, is slowly warming up to the youngster.

Happy is learning lay down, place, and stay, and his parents share that everything is going better than they ever could have imagined. The only issue they’re having to work on is his being left alone. He doesn’t seem to mind the crate at night or during the day next to his mom while she’s working, but if they leave him alone for even a few minutes he will whine or bark. Aw, sweet Happy must be so ecstatic to finally have a forever family of his very own! Separation anxiety is not at all uncommon in newly adopted dogs. Hopefully he’ll adjust as soon as he realizes that they always come back. Happy’s adopters are patiently working with him using positive reinforcement to help him become more comfortable.
