Spencer’s Story:

Rescued in January 2020, this 4-year-old cockapoo mix was a bouncy, enthusiastic, cheerful little sweetheart. The Long Beach Animal Shelter had picked him up as a stray and found that he was having grand mal seizures. Luckily for Spencer, the shelter took him to a hospital to get his seizures under control and once he was ready for release, they contacted Camp Cocker Rescue to ask us if we would take him. Naturally, we said yes!

Spencer's new parents don't mind that he has to be on anti-seizure medication for the rest of his life with regular vet checkups every six months. They adore him just the way he is. Spencer loves them, too, especially his havanese sister, Josie! The two dogs quickly became the very best of friends.

Gentle and loving, Spencer is super affectionate and very social. He brings his family endless joy. To our delight, his parents had a DNA test done on him and the results revealed that he’s a cockapoo, cocker spaniel, poodle with some chihuahua thrown in… but his mom just says he’s 100% a lover!

From Spencer’s adopters: “Thanks for letting him adopt us.”
