WELCOME TO CAMP COCKER RESCUE TSEMBII!

Tsembii has finally arrived, and we’re already in love with him! He is playful & fun - and a huge snuggler. First and foremost, he LOVES people! After all, he led a very hard & frightening life (see Rob & Kim’s comments below) before he was rescued, and people are the best thing that has ever happened to him! ❤️

Tsembii is estimated* to be 3-5 years old, and he weighs 24 pounds.

  • It appears that Tsembii might be an English/American Cocker Spaniel mix.

  • He is people-friendly, dog-friendly, and good with kids.

  • He likes to play with toys & is good with other dogs.

  • Tsembii is sweet, loving, and playful.

  • He is a quiet dog, not prone to much barking.

  • He has plenty of youthful dog energy.

  • Tsembii is housetrained. Having access to a secure backyard is helpful.

  • He's non-reactive to other dogs while on a leash.

  • He does have a strong prey drive and will attempt to chase after squirrels.

  • Tsembii is great with strangers, and welcoming to everyone he meets. Strangers who come to the house are happily greeted.

  • He travels well in the car.

  • Tsembii’s rescuers from Mongolia tell us that giving Tsembii plenty of opportunities to snuggle up on the couch with you is a top priority!

*Please note that any age provided is only an estimate, based on veterinary examination.

#CampCockerTsembii is currently being fostered in Southern California.

*** TSEMBII HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!! ***

Rob & Kim, the movers and shakers of this Mongolian rescue partnership with Camp Cocker Rescue, sent us this advance information about Tsembii:

Tsembii is an incredibly friendly dog and a favorite among the volunteers. Tsembii LOVES people. He leans up against legs, sits in laps, and follows anyone who might give him attention. After our group visits UB Shelter and reviews the photos of the volunteers, we often laugh because Tsembii is in every picture. He always wants to be in the center of the action.

The owner of UB Shelter, Sanaa, found Tsembii in 2022. It was January, the coldest month of the year in the coldest capital city in the world, and Tsembii was a stray running along the road near an auto parts shop. He ran back and forth nervously and was nearly hit by several cars. Sanaa described Tsembii as hungry, cold, and frightened, and said Tsembii was trying to follow people for companionship.

Sanaa gathered Tsembii and put him in the car. After living outdoors for a prolonged time, Tsembii was ‘too stinky to even describe with words’, and the car smelled for days afterward. Shampoo was no match for the odor. Oblivious, Tsembii insisted on sitting in Sanaa’s lap and even slept in Sanaa’s bed. Sanaa gave him the name Tsembii, which in Mongolian means something similar to ‘clean’.

Tsembii was gentle and well-behaved, but became nervous when given food, as if it might be taken away. He is calmer now, but still eats hungrily. Since his first day at UB Shelter, Tsembii has been a clinger, jumping into laps any time someone sat down.

Tsembii is good with dogs. He lived among 90 other dogs without issue. If you’re looking for a sweet dog that will make you smile and loves to snuggle, Tsembii is a fantastic choice.

SANAA RESCUED THEM FROM THE STREETS.

KIM & ROB HAVE WORKED TIRELESSLY TO GET THESE BOYS APPROVED & READY FOR TRAVEL TO THEIR NEW LIVES IN AMERICA! (MORE ABOUT THIS ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE)

NOW KIM, ROB, SPA & TSEMBII ARE ON THEIR WAY TO CAMP COCKER RESCUE & WE CAN’T WAIT TO MEET THEM!

In the fall of 2022, Camp Cocker committed to taking in seven cocker spaniels and cocker mixes from Mongolia.

The process is quite extensive because Mongolia is on the list of countries that the CDC. has on a watch list for rabies.   So each dog must go through a lengthy process in order to get approved to enter the U.S.

It can take up to five months (or longer!) to get permission, after two rabies vaccines, a blood draw, a titer test and lots of paperwork.

We at Camp Cocker Rescue believe that compassion has no borders and just because Tsembii happened to be born into a situation where his options were limited, doesn't mean he isn't worth being rescued.

Thank you for having a heart for dogs like Noodles. It means so much to us to be able to say “yes” to a shelter dog in need, no matter where that shelter is located.

PLEASE HELP US RAISE FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE OTHER COCKER SPANIELS FROM MONGOLIA!

We rely on support in the form of small donations and volunteers. Please consider donating any amount to help us meet our rescue expenses which include medical, transport, and general care for rescued dogs awaiting adoption!
