Woody

Adopted MAY 2023!

Woody’s Story:

This sweet cocker spaniel mix with the short little legs was rescued from the Burbank animal shelter in March 2023 after he’d been relinquished by his previous owner who could no longer care for him. Woody suffered from chronic skin issues and was missing a lot of fur. He’d already received most antifungal and parasitic treatments and had tried several different allergy medications. We took him to see a veterinary dermatologist who tested Woody for allergens (they found six, including cats and house dust) so that a prescription immunotherapy formula could be created just for him. In addition to these drops, Woody continues to get weekly medicated baths for his super itchy skin. Woody is such a sweet dog! Although he isn’t too sure what to think about cats and will sometimes bark at them in passing, he is always happy to meet another dog, people, and children.

Now named Nori, his family tell us that he is such a sweet pup and has been amazing so far! He's a really smart boy and has already figured out where to potty in the backyard and knows when it's time to go for a walk. He has a bit of separation anxiety from his mom (if she goes upstairs for a while he will start crying or barking for her), but he is definitely getting more comfortable and finding his spots to relax around the house. Everyone who has met Nori loves him and is impressed at how well behaved he is! Nori takes his meds and tolerates his medicated baths like a champ. He also likes giving kisses to the two small kids in the home who are learning his boundaries and being respectful of their new dog brother. Their parents tell us it's really great to see them all building a relationship. They had a DNA test done for Nori and discovered that, in addition to cocker spaniel, he is also part poodle, bassett hound, chihuahua and pit bull! He has turned into the biggest snuggle monster and loves being outside chasing squirrels. He even ended up growing so much amazing, healthy fur again that his parents had to get his hair cut so that he could see!

From Nori’s adopters: “He is really so sweet, we are so happy to have him in our family.
