WELCOME TO CAMP COCKER RESCUE, ZORRO!

** ZORRO IS BEING FOSTERED IN LOS ANGELES **

ZORRO was relinquished by his owners on May 11, 2025. He’s a handsome young tricolor Cocker Spaniel, about 1 year and 5 months old, and he weighs 20 pouds.

Here’s what Zorro’s foster family tells us:

Meet Zorro, the charming, tail-wagging cuddle bug eady to steal your heart! This friendly boy has a special talent for showering everyone he meets with affection. If you're looking for a dog who loves to snuggle, Zorro is your guy, he makes cuddling his full-time job.

Zorro is not just a handsome face; he’s also a smart cookie! He has mastered basic commands like "sit," "come," and "wait," and he's fully potty trained. He's also a pro at bedtime, happily settling into his crate for the night. This smart and adaptable pup is ready to learn all the new rules of his forever home.

While he loves his canine foster brother and is a playful, outgoing friend in controlled settings like doggy daycare, Zorro can get a little overwhelmed by other dogs on leash. But don't worry, this is a work in progress, and with a gentle leader and lots of tasty treats, he's learning to focus on his human instead of the distractions around him. His new family should be ready to continue this positive reinforcement training, and you'll be rewarded with a loyal and loving companion.

Zorro loves a good adventure and he'll be your shadow around the house, following you wherever you are. He is always ready for car rides and is really calm when going on them! He'll be the perfect furry friend for adopters looking for an affectionate, adaptable, and endlessly cheerful pup to fill their life with love and laughter. Zorro is a charming, tail-wagging cuddle bug who's ready to steal hearts! This friendly boy is an absolute social butterfly with humans, showering everyone he meets with affection and seeking out snuggles like it's his job.

What will be ideal for Zorro is a home with a backyard, no adjoining walls with neighbors, another confident dog in his home, and an adopter who will be 100% committed to force-free training that will help him to overcome his fears and learn to be comfortable in his new life.

Before they were relinquished, Zorro and his sister Wednesday spent most of their lives either outdoors on a patio when alone, and indoors when their people were home, and have had very little socialization. As a result they can be fear-reactive on walks and when they see other dogs that they don’t know.

Zorro does have some separation anxiety, but so far it appears to be managable for short periods of time. Our current recommendation is that he should not be alone for long periods of time. Another dog in the home will likely help with separation anxiety issues.

(Note that Zorro & Wednesday cannot be adopted together, due to littermate syndrome.)
