Athena’s Story

Her name is Athena and she is a nice, friendly, scruffy little terrier mix girl, estimated to be 3-4 years old, and only twelve pounds – with an orthopedic injury.
We know she isn’t a cocker spaniel but we have a hard time saying no to a medical dog that has no chance for adoption from the general public. Athena’s X-rays showed a luxated (dislocated) left hip that required FHO surgery to repair.
Athena had her FHO surgery on Monday 12/11/23. The surgery has been followed by simple at-home physical therapy (a few weeks of Range of Motion exercises, and slow controlled walks) provided by her foster mom.
She is very sweet!
