Cory’s Story

Origin: South Korea
Cory is a super-sweet adult male Cocker Spaniel from a large puppy mill in Busan, South Korea. He’s flown to Los Angeles and joined Camp Cocker Rescue to help him find his new home!
Cory is estimated* to be 8-9 years old.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT PUPPY MILL DOGS:
- Puppy mill dogs like Cory need very special adopters – patient people who will be understanding that potty training may be a very long learning curve.
- Force-free training is the only way to go; these dogs are already so fearful, and they need kindness, not a dominant alpha approach.
- These dogs will be extreme flight risks, so a home with no children is safer in terms of entrances and exits being 100% controlled by adults only.
- Most of these more timid dogs will need a home with another confident dog to help show them the way. Typically, puppy mill dogs are dog-friendly.

Heartworm Test Results

Cory has just tested positive for heartworm! He was previously treated in S Korea, but will now need to undergo another round of heartworm treatment, which will need to be followed up with an updated heartworm test.
