Cory’s Story

Rescue Date: April 24, 2025

Origin: South Korea

Cory is a super-sweet adult male Cocker Spaniel. He’s very friendly with people, mellow, low energy, affectionate, and loves to be pet. Since he likes to hump new dogs until he gets to know them, he’s not a good candidate for dog parks.

Cory has dry eye in both eyes and a corneal scar on his left eye. But that doesn’t keep him from having fun!

Cory’s from a large puppy mill in Busan, South Korea who’s flown to Los Angeles and joined Camp Cocker Rescue to help him find his new home!

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT PUPPY MILL DOGS:

Puppy mill dogs like Cory need very special adopters – patient people who will be understanding that potty training may be a very long learning curve.

  • Force-free training is the only way to go; these dogs are already so fearful, and they need kindness, not a dominant alpha approach.
  • These dogs will be extreme flight risks, so a home with no children is safer in terms of entrances and exits being 100% controlled by adults only.
  • Most of these more timid dogs will need a home with another confident dog to help show them the way. Typically, puppy mill dogs are dog-friendly as Cory is!
