Maggie’s Story

Rescue Date: July 22, 2025

Origin: Wildomar Animal Shelter

Maggie, an adorable French Bulldog, was rescued from the Wildomar Shelter as a weary, very pregnant, and extremely uncomfortable momma! Unfortunately scans showed her unborn babies to be severely underdeveloped and not likely to be viable (some had no heartbeats, some had undeveloped organs) so her planned c-section needed to become a spay-abort.

Maggie had her soft pallete examined while under anesthesia for her spay and our vet described it as “not too long like some Bulldogs can have.”  In no way can we guarantee her future health as this is one of the most expensive breeds to own due to multiple medical issues that can come up at anytime.

Maggie’s now a happy, springy, energetic girl, estimated* to be 3-4 years old, and very much a velcro-to-people dog. She is okay around other dogs but can be a little guardy of her stuff around submissive dogs. She wants to be the boss lady. 🙂 (This may not faze Frenchie-experienced adopters from what we’ve been reading about the breed.)

Maggie is housetrained.
