Gretchen’s Story
Rescue Date: February 6, 2016
Origin: Baldwin Park Shelter
Gretchen entered a high kill shelter (Baldwin Park/Los Angeles) after being hit by a car. Her right front elbow was fractured, and the tendons had become detached. We rushed her to the orthopedic surgeon who repaired her elbow, reconstructed the tendons in that arm, and reattached the tendons to the elbow!
After her cast was cut away, Gretchen was fitted with a brace that stabilized her arm as she put weight on it. With the brace, Gretchen was able to start a 12-week rehab that included physical therapy to exercise and build strength. She has since made a full recovery with full mobility.
Without the ✨generous donations ✨ from Camp Cocker followers this would be the end of the story. Happily, Gretchen was able to receive the complex surgery that she needed to recover. A huge thank you to the Camp Cocker Village – for restoring life to our major medical rescues! ❤️
