Anastacia’s Story

Rescue Date: October 2, 2025

Origin: North Central LA Shelter

Anastacia was a rare find – a young Cocker Spaniel landing in one of the municipal animal sheters in Los Angeles – and we acted quickly to find out more about her!

The shelter rescue coordinator was very helpful in spending the time to get us the specific video that we’d requested so that we could commit to Anastacia over the phone.  That video showed her responding well to being handled, and in meeting other dogs, revealed no reactivity, which are the results for which we we were hoping!

Anastacia had been relinquished to the North Central Los Angeles city shelter, spotting blood as can be seen in her shelter photos. That spotting was apparently from a recent heat cycle, which would be quite normal.

We immediately took her to the vet to begin diagnostics, and all came back within normal limits. We were, of course, prepared to provide whatever medical services she needed – which is what every dog deserves!

She had a bath and a haircut, and she’s ready to find her forever home.
