Doc’s Story
Rescue Date: April 28, 2026
Origin: Harbor Animal Care Shelter, Los Angeles, California
Welcome to Camp Cocker Rescue, Doc!
We just rescued this handsome tri-color Cocker Spaniel from the Harbor Shelter in San Pedro, CA. He appears to have a few medical issues that need attention.
For starters, he is urine soaked! First stop, a DIY bath at Petfood Express. Doc was a two-token guy (one token is a 25 minute bath). After 45 minutes, he still smells like he was dipped in urine. His fur is still yellow as well. This poor guy! Hopefully, after he decompresses in a few days or a week, a professional groomer might have better products for getting the odor and stained fur cleaned?
He is emaciated. His hips and ribs are prominent due to no fat and mucle loss. His rear legs have some ataxia (showing incoordination). His ears are infected, and his teeth show heavy tartar.
You don’t know it yet little dude, but you are about to get “the works”. Gold star treatment all the way!
Doc has been rescued in honor of Bentley, who we just lost over the Rainbow Bridge. We are still trying to fundraise for Bentley’s vet debt to get paid off so any donation is truly appreciated.
Please help us to welcome Doc today with a donation in any amount here on his webpage..
