Origin: Los Angeles North Central Shelter
When the North Central Los Angeles city animal shelter asked us to take sweet middle-aged RAVI, they prepared us that his hair was so matted that it was pinching his skin. 😭
We were not prepared for the stench of what this poor dog has been having to smell on himself. He literally smelled like sewage (the volunteer vehicle is still stinky after a day of having the windows rolled down)!
This poor guy broke our hearts into a million pieces. 💔 We desperately tried to find a vet that could do a sedated shave down but no one could accept him at the last minute. Then we called multiple groomers, begging to pay a premium to get him shaved down. We finally found one that was hesitant to attempt a shave down after seeing Ravi in person but luckily they said yes. It took four people to work on him. He was flailing (needed to be muzzled) and three people were holding him while one was shaving him as quickly as possible. He had a bath but the odor was so deep in his skin that he needed additional bathing to smell fresh and clean.
Ravi is a sweet middle-aged fella with cataracts (we’re scheduling an ophthalmology consult, crossing the🤞🏼that there is a chance for cataract surgery).
He’s ready to find his forever home – filled with the love and care he so desperately needs & deserves!

Sweet Ravi has had a dental cleaning with a few extractions, and has been neutered. He is such a god boy, with moderate energy and an inquisitive personality!
