Thumper

Was Valentine’s Day the first time Thumper ever had a photo taken like he was someone’s much loved Valentine? 🌹

Meet Thumper, a middle aged boy with some potential medical issues. This newbie low-rider boy was rescued from a local shelter in Riverside, California, on 2/11/26 – dirty, covered in ticks and unsure what his future would hold!

He had labored breathing while in the shelter and they x-rayed him to reveal an over sized left ventricle.  We took him for his first vet visit and he has a bit of a “to do” list. He needs an ultrasound to try to determine if there is fluid in his abdominal cavity. He now has a consult scheduled with a cardiologist as well as an abdominal ultrasound.

*Good News! Thumper has been cleared of cardiac issues (yay!!!) and now is awaiting a medical consult for potential laryngeal issues.

Thumper appears stable, temperature is normal, eating, drinking normally. Of course we never hesitate to go to emergency if a dog’s stability suddenly changes. We need to get a diagnosis on his heart and any other issues before we can schedule his neuter and cherry eye surgery.
