Orange County Animal Shelter, CA
Jackson was attackedby multiple dogs before animal control found him wandering the streets.
He has endless puncture and bite marks all over his muzzle and head. A lot of them are old scarring where the fur wont grow anymore. Shelter paperwork reported multiple dogs attacked him.
His right ear is inflated with a hematoma ( a large hard mass made up of scar tissue ) that could be a year or two old, and his ears are infected. These develop from untreated ear infections; dogs will shake their head to *itch the scratch* but chronic shaking the head only causes further damage to the ears. This hematoma is permanent. Just think of it as a built-in pillow!
He needed our help badly and this was a shelter that wasn't going to spend too many more resources on an injured dog. We had to act fast-- and we did.
